Gabrial: Burst through to win at Haydock and now heads to Royal Ascot
Richard Fahey's Gabrial won the Betfred Silver Bowl despite drifting markedly to his left as he surged to the front under Jamie Spencer.
The 9-2 chance was always travelling strongly and initially challenged on the outside of the field, only to hang towards the far rail.
He forced several rivals to snatch up but was soon in front and went on to beat the strong-travelling Lucky Henry by a length-and-three-quarters. Switzerland (14-1) was back in third.
The success made it two from two on the card for owner Dr Marwan Koukash, whose wife, Mandy, said: "I think he will be going to Ascot next."
