Jason Maguire: Rode Blue Article in the bumper at Worcester
Blue Article, co-owned by Leinster rugby captain Leo Cullen, opened her account when dead-heating at Worcester.
The four-year-old filly had to settle for a share of the spoils with the David Pipe-trained newcomer Too Generous in the Betfred Mobile Mares' Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race.
Second in an Irish point-to-point in April, Blue Article was having her first run since joining the Donald McCain stable.
She looked like being a clear winner when Jason Maguire kicked on but Too Generous got her second wind and joined the 5-2 favourite on the line.
"I probably took it up a bit soon but I didn't want to be sitting helping the Pipe horse," Maguire told At The Races.
"If I'd have sat and pushed her up the straight I might not have found much to get by him, so I thought I'd kick on.
"I was amazed halfway down the back everybody started to kick on. I was in two minds. You don't want to let a Pipe horse get too far in front, but she's fit and well and kept going."
