Fantastic Moon came from last to first to win the Candy Kittens Solario Stakes at Sandown under a determined William Buick ride.

Jeremy Noseda's charge had won a Newmarket novice stakes on debut in July and was the last to challenge in this Group Three contest.

Up front Tha'ir had set sail for home under Silvestre De Sousa and fellow joint-favourite Master Of War was rallying under Richard Hughes but Buick had timed things to perfection aboard the 3-1 winner.

He was in front a stride from the line for a head success from Tha'ir (9-4 joint-favourite) with Master Of War a similar distance away in third.

Sky Bet introduced the winner at 25-1 for next year's QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

Buick said: "He's a really nice horse. I won on him at Newmarket and I really liked him. It was a big step up here, but Jeremy said he should run very well. He's done well today and I'm very happy.

"It was a funny little race, I didn't know how it was going to pan out and I'm glad he got there. He was always doing enough and when he met the rising ground he stayed on."
