Cristal Bonus: Struck at Down Royal for Nicholls and Jacob
Cristal Bonus completed a big Down Royal double for Paul Nicholls and Daryl Jacob by landing the Ladbrokes Chase in taking fashion.
Bog Warrior attempted to make all the running under Davy Russell but he could never shake off the winner who had his measure when the 11/10 favourite took a tired fall at the final fence.
That left Cristal Bonus (2/1) clear and he was driven out for an authoritative success over Jacksonslady (5/1) who made late progress to take the forecast spot ahead of Imperial Shabra.
Robin Geffen owns both Kauto Stone and Cristal Bonus and his racing manager Charlie Liverton said: "The owner is delighted, as you can imagine, and it's wonderful to have two horses that you can plan with for the rest of the season. Both have big futures as they are only six.
"Cristal Bonus will stick to two-and-a-half and that opens up the Peterborough, Ascot and Betfair Chases. We'll look at France as well and being a French-bred that helps."
