White Moonstone maintained her unbeaten record with a narrow victory in the Meon Valley Stud Fillies' Mile at Ascot.

The 4-5 shot had to work hard to hold the late flourish of Together by a neck with Theyskens' Theory a length and a quarter away in third.

Frankie Dettori took the Godolphin filly into the lead a furlong out and she was just doing enough to take the Group One.

Dettori said: "I don't think she ran as good as Doncaster, it was only two weeks ago. She was a bit fresh in the paddock and the turn of foot was not as good as Doncaster.

"I think the race came a bit quick. Now we will put her away for the winter. Winning like that was still very pleasing.

"That will be it for the year. She is quite light-framed and I don't think she'll take much more racing.

"We will have to wait and see for next year. All the options are open. We've got today over, now we can dream."

Bin Suroor was delighted with White Moonstone's victory but believes she could be even better next term.

"We will take her back to Dubai and then bring her here for the 1000 Guineas," he said.

"She's shown that she is a Group One filly and I think she might be more of a three-year-old and she could even be an Oaks filly."

White Moonstone was cut to 6-1 for the 1000 Guineas and to 8-1 for the Oaks with Sky Bet.

Matt Doyle of Sky Bet said: 'Although she was not as visually impressive as Frankel on the day, White Moonstone is now unbeaten in four starts and has shown a good turn of foot to come from where she did to score at Group 1 level in a key Guineas trial.'
