Mickael Barzalona: Rode Tawhid
Godolphin's Tawhid fared best of the British-based runners in the Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen - German 2000 Guineas at Cologne behind surprise winner Peace At Last.
Mickael Barzalona appeared to have done everything right on Tawhid, who finished last of four in the Craven on his reappearance, as he cruised to the front over a furlong out.
However, Peace At Last and Global Bang made rapid ground from the rear and soon settled down to fight out the finish.
It was Henri-Alex Pantall's Peace at Last, ridden by Fabrice Veron, who came out on top with Tawhid back in third, clear of the remainder.
The rest were headed by Marco Botti's String Theory but Richard Hannon's Law Enforcement , Mick Channon's Ayaar, Charlie Hills' One More Word and George Baker's Boomshackerlacker could never get involved at any stage.
William Balding of Godolphin commented: "Tawhid has run very well. The mile and soft ground suited him. He appeared a bit green when he hit the front and he may have got there too soon."
