Verdict

There would be few more deserving winners than Bothy, runner-up in the Totesport Trophy and to Carlito Brigante in the Coral Cup and he looks certain to go well though in an incredibly tough contest an each-way bet is advised on RUSSIAN WAR. Gordon Elliott's charge won a minor handicap at Cheltenham in October but was well beaten behind Grands Crus on a return visit the following month and looks to have been saved for this by his astute handler. Megastar has yet to prove he stays this far but Gary Moore's charge, successful in the Champion Bumper here last year, has been facing very stiff opposition over timber and looks nicely treated for his handicap debut. Get Me Out Of Here returned to form in the County Hurdle where he was worn down by Final Approach right on the line. He's another having his first start over the trip but should be suited. Problema Tic arrived at Ascot in February unbeaten but was never travelling on the soft ground and is very much better than he showed that day and he, along with the consistent and progressive Pateese, can get involved in a wide-open event.
