In depth

Verdict

Despite still showing signs of inexperience, ABOVE STANDARD had no problem getting off the mark in a Warwick maiden last month when Perfect Mission was a one-paced fourth. Barry Hills' colt has plenty of potential and can improve again to score here. Konstantin won at Leicester in April and hasn't been disgraced off higher marks since but Majestic Dream is proving expensive to follow and Chester second Major Conquest gets little respite from the handicapper, though did win over 6f here a year ago. Lightning Cloud's bubble was burst at Musselburgh last time but he did beat My Son Max at Leicester earlier and Richard Hannon's gelding scarped home in a classified stakes at York last month.
