    Verdict

Niblawi was due to run at Haydock yesterday but finished third behind Great Hall at the Shergar Cup meeting here last month so has claims if turning up. The latter is upped only 3lb but the runner-up Gawdawpalin re-opposes on better terms and won over track and trip in July. Star Of The East has been thereabouts of late but has gone up 5lb for finishing second at Chepstow and Mutadaffeq remains inconsistent having won at Pontefract in between a couple of poor efforts. ALQAMAR (NAP) never figured over 1m6f here last time but that was in the Group 2 Queen’s Vase and much better is expected today given the Godolphin representative won in fine style in soft ground at York back in May.
