Verdict

Richard Hannon is convinced Memory will put her 1000 Guineas aberration behind her here but the filly has an enormous amount of ground to make up on the likes of Together, second in the Irish 1000 Guineas subsequently, Maqaasid, Nova Hawk and Barefoot Lady. The latter has since finished behind Maqaasid's stablemate Joviality in the Musidora at York and it's interesting that John Gosden decided to drop his daughter of Cape Cross in trip here rather than send her to Chantilly for the French Oaks. I LOVE ME was only ninth at Newmarket but still going well when hampered inside the final 2f and not unduly punished thereafter. She was a beaten favourite over 7f at HQ on her latest start but the winner that day, Codemaster, was just beaten in the Jersey Stakes here on Wednesday and this easier surface will suit Andrew Balding's filly more than the majority of her rivals. She's closely matched with Together on last year's form and, at the likely odds, could be the value in what looks a very open renewal.
