Verdict

Honours have been shared between three and four-year-olds in this but the younger generation greatly outnumber the older fillies in this latest renewal, though Madame Chiang attempts to replicate last year's success. The last two winners have started at 16/1 and 12/1 so the market isn't necessarily the best guide though Arabian Queen, who beat Golden Horn at York, looks worth opposing over this trip. Irish Oaks winner Covert Love got back to winning ways at Longchamp having just failed to hold off Pleascach in the Yorkshire Oaks but Sea Calisi was only a neck away in third at York and there should be little between the pair again. Candarliya won a Group 2 at Longchamp after chasing home Treve in the Prix Vermeille and will be a threat to all while Journey found the step up to 1m4f no problem at Newmarket. Tapestry is another Group 1 winner but only beat one home in the Arc last time. SIMPLE VERSE was justly awarded the St Leger on appeal after initially being disqualified. Though her best form is over further, she'll be suited by the likely strong pace in this and can prove herself to be a smart filly by completing the hat-trick.
