    Verdict

Mastery looks a major player (assuming that he gets this longer trip) however a penalty for his Italian Group Two win makes life tough and preference here is for STATELY HOME who can see off the challenges of the Mark Johnston pair of Sabotage and Holberg. Aiden O'Brien's son of Montjeu is one of many horses in the line-up who steps up in trip today. His latest jaunt across the Irish Sea ended in defeat at Hamilton but that winner looks very smart indeed and it would be a surprise were this Ballydoyle inmate not to feature in the finish. Stablemate Yankee Doodle is ridden by Ryan Moore and he needs to improve today as well, whilst Popmurphy has shown ability but connections quickly turn to a visor which is a slight worry. Blinkers are tried on Talimos, but of more interest may be Dhushan. Michael Jarvis has gone close in this race in recent times and a big run looks assured from this unexposed son of Rainbow Quest who looks like he needs a strong test of stamina already despite his tender years. Also interesting are the two horses representing Mark Johnston; as an almost feeder yard to Sheikh Mohammed, he has some fine two-year-olds up in Middleham but this year's crop of second season horses looks even better. Sabotage steps up in class and looks the second string on jockey bookings but he warrants this step up in class, whilst Holberg was a further length and a place behind Stately Home up at Hamilton but lost little in defeat and is very progressive. Trainer Aiden O'Brien has a fair record in this race (horses placed fourth in 2006, 2008 renewals, and the winner in 2007) and it can get even better with Stately Home.
