Ifs and buts abound in a puzzling contest which will hopefully see Kieren Fallon follow up last year's success aboard Rainbow Peak. ROCK N ROLL RANSOM disappointed on his first run beyond a mile but looked well worth another chance to confirm the promise of his first two starts when an unlucky in running ninth of fourteen back over a mile at Sandown with this longer trip not expected to trouble him. Don't Call Me's good run came to an end in a competitive handicap at Beverley, Right Step has been rather in and out while Hypnotized didn't really sparkle at Kempton on his first start since disappointing favourite backers in the Britannia although the lack of a strong pace and a low draw were possible excuses. Splinter Cell may have needed his first run since February and prove more competitive whilst it will be interesting to see what the market makes of the ex-Italian L Frank Baum.
