      Verdict

A fascinating line-up for the Princess Margaret sees Polar Circle selected ahead of Sweepstake and Loch Jipp. Fanatical was only beaten three-and-a-half lengths in the Queen Mary Stakes, and Green Oasis by about the same distance in the Cherry Hinton, in which Kyllane was about a length ahead of her and, in turn, Loch Jipp about a length ahead of her, so we will get an idea of the value of today's form from their performances. Polar Circle was about a length behind Fanatical in the Queen Mary - which, of course, is run over five furlongs - but was eased when held. She has gone on to win since and, with the step up to six furlongs looking likely to suit, she can go well today. We will also give a mention to Reel Gift, who impressed on her Kempton debut, and her stable companion Sweepstake, who won her first two races but them beat only two home in the Queen Mary after being well supported. She could well fare better today and, finally, Sir Michael Stoute's Visit represents solid maiden form and it is interesting to see her trainer step her up in class so quickly. For the selection, though, we will stick with Polar Circle.
