In depth

Verdict

Ballyben made a winning debut at Carlisle while Caledonia began his career with a victory at Kelso but Halo Moon was second in a maiden hurdle here yesterday and almost certainly won't be facing the starter. Brae On and Jokers And Rogues have shown some signs of ability but the four-year-olds get plenty of weight and all three entered here are of interest. Cyrius Darius is out of a bumper winner but Malcolm Jefferson's Secrete Stream is the type likely to need a few runs. Alan Swinbank has booked A P McCoy for the ride of SAFFRON TOWN, who is by the smart Saffron Walden out of a mare that won six times on the Flat and four times over hurdles. He's bred for something better than this.
