The veteran Green Park ran five times last month and performed with credit on each occasion. However, connections won't be happy with a 2lb rise for being beaten at Chester though Luke Leadbitter's claim will be a help in that respect. It will be interesting to see if Ruth Carr can get a tune out of Victoire De Lyphar, runner-up in the 2010 Ayr Gold Cup off a 17lb higher mark. He has an eye-shield for the first time and is one to note but Chookie Royale has done better since moving up to 7f. Lucky Numbers has won from higher marks and is quite capable of a big run but it's about time DEFENCE COUNCIL was winning again and his most recent run, when narrowly beaten by Take Cover on heavy ground at Haydock, puts him in pole position.
