        Verdict

        HELLO STRANGER made a winning debut in a Newcastle maiden before a fine effort in a Nottingham handicap won by Ambitious Icarus. He's turned out quickly and on the same mark so has a fine chance to get back on track. Red Baron wasn't beaten far by the selection at Newcastle but went into the race with plenty of experience and appears unlikely to turn the tables. Heroic Endeavour took advantage of heavy ground to land a Hamilton handicap for Jessica Harrington and a 4lb rise looks fair for David Barron's new recruit though Economic Crisis, who was less than a length behind in third, didn't get the best of runs and could turn the tables. Elusive Bonus loves soft ground and ran well at Redcar and, along with Middleton Flyer, can't be dismissed in a very open handicap.
