ECHO POINT caught the eye over course and distance last time out and is taken to land this competitive handicap at the expense of Risk Runner and Warsaw Pact. The selection finished second to Kempski off a three pound lower mark last time out and in the mean time putting a couple of poor performances behind him. The one question mark would be the ground conditions as his best form all appears to be with a decent cut in the ground. That said the clerk of the course at Ayr has promised to throw on as much water as he can to produce a decent playing surface and any over night rain would be welcome to enhance his chances. Risk Runner has nine more pounds to deal with after his recent success at Newcastle. That said he did appreciate the quicker ground conditions that day so with conditions to suit he would have to be added to the short list. Warsaw Pact won back to back races at Chepstow and Wetherby before failing to win off a mark of 132 at Fontwell last time out. He has been dropped one pound today and his trainer is very much in form at present so he should be monitored in the betting market. However for the winner we return to Echo Point.
