        Verdict

This can go to Watching, who has been banging on the door lately and an cope with the challenges of Presumptive and Albashoosh, who spearhead the challenge from the rest. The latter arrives here in good form after putting in a series of fair efforts since winning at Pontefract in June. However, the fact that he just scraps in at the foot of the weights underlines that he is no world beater and, even though he is likely to have the measure of the likes of former stablemate Hurricane Floyd, others make more appeal. Presumptive was strongly punted when he won at Sandown and, as he is set to encounter similar conditions, he is likely to be a popular choice again. However, his previous form does leave a little to be desired and a watching brief on the market is advised to confirm that connections do not think that was just a one off performance. Therefore the value call lays with Watching, who has really found his racing shoes since he switched yards to Richard Fahey. The change of scenery appears to have suited him well and he can become the latest success for a jockey whose strike-rate at Ayr with older horses makes for impressive reading.
