Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

Hamish McGonagall has only been raised 1lb by the handicapper for his win at Chester last time when Tim Easterby's gelding was able to make all the running but this looks tougher and marginal preference is for Whiskey Junction, who gets the vote with Inxile rated the pick of the remainder. The selection is in the form of his life at present coming here having won each of his last four starts, latterly on the Polytrack at Lingfield, and Andrew Balding's gelding is taken to defy the handicapper again. Alan Berry's Look Busy should appreciate the return to this grade having been beaten in a Group 3 race at York last time and she has solid claims. Chief Editor has more to do than when successful at Nottingham last time, while Aegean Dancer looks a shade high in the weights. Inxile is less exposed than most of these after just five starts and has every chance if able to build on his latest start at Sandown. Whiskey Junction is in great from at present though and he is just preferred in a cracking contest.
