Verdict

Plinth has won the last twice he's raced at around this distance and remains on a very fair mark though that remark also applies to LACHARES, who finished around seven lengths behind him at Killarney in receipt of 3lb. The four-year-old has a big pull in the weights here and is still on the upgrade so can return to winning ways. Swamp Fox bounced back to form with a fine effort in a lucrative Killarney handicap while Sure Reef, a Grade 2 winner in 2014, is gradually making his way back from a long lay-off and performed with credit at the Punchestown Festival. Sanibel Island won the bumper on this card last year and has scored twice over hurdles subsequently so he has to be on the shortlist while Mine Now would have a chance if the rain arrives as it was heavy ground when he won at Gowran in February.
