In depth

Verdict

Dan Skelton has managed to transform a few ex-pointers this autumn but Firmount Gent has so far resisted all invitations to join the gravy train. Bonobo only won a seller over hurdles at Newton Abbot last month and has been placed just once over fences in eight attempts. Sage Monkey won over course and distance in August but was beaten when falling at Worcester subsequently. CHAMPION CHASE didn’t win over hurdles but showed ability and has also been placed in a point-to-point. He is almost certain to up his game now tackling fences.
