        Verdict

        A tough race to call here for punters with very little between many of the leading lights but the principals look to be Private Peachey, Alfresco and Carlitos Spirit and the tentative vote is given to Alfresco. The selection was a fair third behind Electric Warrior last time out. That horse has since ran well under a penalty in a more competitive affair and off the same mark here Alfresco will take some beating. Private Peachey rates the main danger on his latest fourth behind My Mentor but he barely sees out this trip. Carlitos Spirit was a fair second behind Cornerstone last time and is another with place claims but he is hard to win with. Magroom and Last Sovereign will like conditions and are sure to run their races, but both look in the handicapper's grip, and with this in mind Alfresco looks the one to be on.
