Verdict

Course and distance winner STUNNING IN PURPLE could prove too strong for Tedious and Darwin Star. Andy Haynes' runner got off the mark at the sixth time of asking last time and deservedly so, as she'd previously been in the first three on every visit to the racecourse. Racing off a mark of 69 on her nursery debut and with a clear liking for conditions, this apparently versatile filly is taken to make the most of the weight received from Tedious. The latter was picked up by current connections after showing speed and a willing attitude to win at Wolverhampton, and while the form doesn't amount to much she's capable of improving further still and should be a factor. Dean Ivory should know where he stands in saddling Darwin Star as one of his was behind Tedious at Dunstall Park. His grey is like our pick becoming exposed but she continues to acquit herself well, however she has been seen at her best when setting the tempo and there could be a battle on between her and Tedious. Indian Ballad hasn't yet confirmed his debut promise but may do better switched to handicaps while lowly-rated Lovat Lane looks nicely in on his debut form but like Indian Ballad hasn't built on it. This race may concern just three, with Stunning In Purple taken to come out on top.
