      Verdict

Last year's winner High Ridge is taken to repeat the feat, with Pulse, Stargem and Adantino seen as three likely dangers. Milton Bradley seldom leaves here empty-handed with his sprinters, and hopes are high that High Ridge can gain another course and distance win. Despite being a son of Indian Ridge, each of the six-year-old's three career victories have come on fast ground, twice here and one at Pontefract, so today's underfoot conditions will be perfect. As for the draw, he was in stall 11 when successful 12 months ago, so box 10 is not a problem, and as he lines up on only a pound higher mark than last year, he makes plenty of appeal. His two runs so far this term on softer ground should have served to put him spot on, and he meets Pulse on four-pound better terms for the length-and-a-quarter that separated them at Warwick in April. The latter turns out quickly after a fair fourth at Nottingham on Saturday and should again be in the shake-up, but all-weather winner Stargem has it to off topweight, although she will find this a bit easier than when last of seven to Honey Ryder at Newmarket. Adantino nearly came down at Lingfield last time so was unlucky, but his best efforts have all been on the artificial surface and he too will have to improve. High Ridge has plenty going for him and is the pick to return to winning ways.
