In depth

Verdict

Volpone Jelois has developed into a nice dual purpose performer for Paul Nicholls and should provide daughter Megan with another good spin as he always seems to run his race. Trip and ground are fine. Croquembouche is struggling for form at present but the handicapper is giving him a real chance down to a mark of 76 and he did crop up with a surprise win last August when seemingly out of form. Glens Wobbly is likely to be up there from the off and cannot be discounted as he really enjoys it round here but Mark Johnston is never fearful of pitching three-year-olds in against their elders and this could be a chance for his lightly-raced maiden, READY TO IMPRESS, to strike. He should be all the better for his reappearance run and this unexposed sort should deliver an improved showing.
