Verdict

This opener is wide open but the tentative vote goes to Select Committee with Secret Asset and Gin Genereux the obvious dangers. The selection is unexposed with only two runs under his belt. He showed promise on both occassions and improved from his debut run to finish second at Redcar last time out. The ground has to be a concern but with improvement still to come he is still worth siding with. Secret Asset has improved with each run and landed himself in the winners enclosure at Haydock last time out after showing promise at Musselburgh previously. He carries a penalty as a result and again with the ground conditions not ideal he will find life tougher here. As will Gin Genereux who acted on the softer surface to win at Hamilton last time out at a big price but with the extra weight to carry he will have to raise his game once more. So for the winner we return to Select Committee to break his maiden tag.
