MR SMITHSON's debut was promising enough to get our vote here ahead of Tom Dolan and Agent Boo but there are plenty who could be anything in this field and as such caution is recommended along with a check of the betting. The pick ran a pleasing enough debut despite being out paced early on but got the hang of things late in the day to finish strongly. Bred to make his mark as a two-year-old he should come on nicely from that run with sprinting likely to prove his modus operandi. Tom Dolan was also pleasing on debut missing out by just a head at Folkestone. She started badly but finished the strongest and although the filly will come on for that she might need further to be seen at her best. Agent Boo is bred for the minimum trip and is entitled to show strongly on his first competitive start. Maidtorun is sired by the former top class Rakti so should have some talent however so far Rakti's children have failed to deliver. Another tricky race to call this but Mr Smithson's has the slightly better chance of success.
