If this conditions race was being staged on the Polytrack we would probably give the vote to Listed winner Matsunosuke but with the gelding yet to scale those heights on turf we'll instead make preference for the well weighted CAPTAIN DUNNE ahead of the consistent Ishetoo. The step down to the minimum trip should benefit the selection, who got turned over in the dying stages when placing in the Portland last time. This is easier and the way this race is framed he looks well treated from a good draw. Ishetoo has form to overturn on the selection after finishing a length behind him last time out. Still, he is more than capable on his day and won't mind the fast conditions. Buachaill Dona is an inconsistent but is a speedy type who can on occasions produce the goods so isn¿t ruled out and Percolater is another for the short list with terms in her favour. This looks a decent contest but Captain Dunne seems to tick most of the right boxes.
