Verdict

The Armed Man had been threatening to win before completing a double at Thirsk and Newcastle. He comes here with a penalty and is drawn widest of all and so plenty to do. THATCHERITE loves it around here and looks to be working his way towards winning again after a promising run at the last meeting here, only his second start since scoring at Redcar in October 2015. He can score again though Pearl Noir escapes a penalty for landing an apprentices' handicap at Ripon where he made all. He'll need another quick start from stall eight but Archimedes is well drawn though he's been racing exclusively on the all-weather.
