    Verdict

Rocker ran creditably at Newmarket last time and has claims on that evidence but may need some help from the handicapper and preference is for Mr Loire, who gets the vote over Puskas. The last mentioned is capable and has slipped to a decent mark but is hard to recommend on recent form so looks best watched. Similar comments apply to John Akehurst's Azygous, while Canadian Danehill has paid the penalty at the hands of the handicapper for a success spell on the all-weather. Gower is capable but may be a shade high in the weights and preference is for Harry Dunlop's Mr Loire, who has shown a consistent level of form and is taken to gain a deserved success.
