Bombadero continues to frustrate and can continue to be opposed despite the stable's recent upturn in fortunes whilst the top-rated horse in the race, Momkinzain, needs to be forgiven an errant display at Epsom where he ran around all over the track. He clearly has the ability to win this race and may well do so if his run on the Surrey Downs proves to be just a blip but the obvious alternative is GAKALINA whose trainer has a formidable 65 per cent strike rate with his three-year-olds at the track. He won this race last year and Gakalina has progressed sufficiently to think that she can follow suit. Strictly Lambada finished in front of her at Kempton and has claims on the figures but Precious Spring was well behind in the same heat and, consequently, has plenty to find.
