Verdict

Lucinda Russell has trained the winner of this in three of the last four years so Etxalar has to be worth a second look, despite racing for the first time since pulling up in the Scottish National in April. Beamazed was successful by five lengths over C&D when last seen in February and that run ties him in closely with Rebel Swing, who beat the same horse over 3m here last month. Valley View appeals as the type likely to improve again this year but this company may be too tough for veteran Victory Gunner nowadays. See What Happens' run earlier on the card will be a guide to the chances of the unexposed African Broadway, who beat him at Wetherby, but HAROUET may be better handicapped. Peter Bowen's charge will like the ground and wasn't disgraced in a decent contest at Chepstow last time. He can finally show he can reproduce his best form away from Ffos Las.
