ROYAL SWAIN has been running well without success in higher grade handicaps of late. With an apprentice's claim taken into account, he can race off a lower mark than when scoring at Doncaster back in May and gets the nod. La Bacouetteuse keeps finding a bit more and won again at Musselburgh last week. He has a penalty to contend with today but is still preferred to recent 2m maiden winner Silver Samba. River Dragon still looks a shade high in the weights and the less exposed Mr Snoozy makes more appeal off his current mark.
