In depth

Verdict

None of these look particularly well handicapped apart from BANDSTAND. The lightly-raced five-year-old won his maiden in March and finished runner-up over C&D last time. He has scope for plenty of improvement in this lesser grade and Bryan Smart's charge gets the vote. Berbice is creeping up the weights again despite not winning and Corsicanrun gets headgear applied for the first time having been a disappointing favourite at Beverley last time. No Quarter is 8lb higher than when winning at Redcar in April and the rest are hard to fancy.
