    Verdict

HYPNOTIC GAZE is the preference in the claimer though Eijaaz and Sudden Impulse are sure to have their supporters. Although better known on an artificial surface, he has shown a degree of ability in his younger days on fast ground and could go well again today. Eijaaz is a winner of two claimers on the spin and it would be a brave man that thought him unable to land a hat-trick in plating grade. Sudden Impulse is attractively tried versus the weights he would be carrying in handicaps. If one were to ignore his latest run, he would be a very short price to secure this prize. Neville Bycroft's horses have run much better than what they were so it would be folly to discount Lucayan Dancer, especially as he has course-and-distance form. The remainder look hard to fancy. Hypnotic Gaze is in good heart at present and is taken to translate polytrack form to the turf.
