    Verdict

A penalty makes life tough for Lady Bluesky and it may pay to take a chance on one of Alan Swinbank's newcomers; narrow preference is for ROSES over stablemate Whirlijig. The market is likely to have its say in this finale, but Alan Swinbank is a good man to follow normally along as the market agrees. Oliver Greenall rides Roses, and that looks to be the pick. She is a half-sister to the winning hurdler Greenwood Tree as well as the decent enough flat horse Submissive. Her stablemate Whirlijig is also related to winners but jockey bookings would hint that she is the stable second-string. Lady Bluesky won nicely at Wetherby last time when she stayed on well to get up close home. With that win under her belt she is an obvious contender but it remains to be seen whether this track will be ideal. Newcomer Samaret represents a stable in good form, although they don't have the greatest of records in these races. A trappy end to the card, but the pin comes down on Roses.
