    Verdict

Millfield was doing all of his best work close home behind Triskaidekaphobia at York last time so should appreciate the step up in trip to seven furlongs and he gets the vote ahead of Wee Charlie Castle and Jaassey. The selection had looked useful when landing his maiden here over five furlongs last month prior to that run at York, which looked to be in a better race than today's and the son of Elnadim is taken to resume winning ways. Yarmouth selling winner First Byte was well held in a novice race at the same venue on her only subsequent start and is difficult to recommend from 2lbs out of the weights, while Twilight Avenger only had one behind him on his nursery debut at Newmarket recently probably best left out of calculations. Mick Channon's Wee Charlie Castle, who chased home the well-treated Pickett at Hamilton last week has an obvious chance off the same mark and should appreciate today's longer trip. He makes more appeal than stablemate Jaassey, who has not progressed as much as may have been expected. The same cannot be said of Millfield though and Howard Johnson's colt is taken to continue on the upgrade.
