Michael Dods' yard seems to have hit a bit of form so it could be worth having a speculative interest on STAR CITY. The C&D winner broke his maiden at the track in July and, though he hasn't set the world alight in handicaps since, a return to the course might just work the oracle. Berbice isn't the quickest of starters but he finishes with something of a rattle and the veteran seems to have struck up a decent partnership with Julie Burke. Summer Dancer took advantage of the handicapper's leniency to break a long losing run at Musselburgh but it may not be so easy for Paul Midgley's gelding to defy a 6lb penalty. Tracy Waggott had a winner at Pontefract on Thursday so last year's victor, No Quarter, has to enter calculations. He is 2lb lower on this occasion although he has been beaten on five subsequent starts over C&D.
