In depth

Verdict

QATAR MAN went close over track and trip on his debut and normal progress could see Marco Botti’s colt off the mark. Thaaqib disappointed last time but still finished ahead of Jewel House and has a shout on his earlier debut at Newmarket. Aventinus - a non-runner at Chester yesterday - has gone backwards since going close at Kempton in June, while Inscribe is related to five winners and is a newcomer to note along with Pennington, Distill and Elysees Palace.
