        Verdict

        A 6lb rise proved beyond Cape Crystal at Newcastle when she attempted to land a treble. But she wasn’t beaten far and could go close again. CRYSTALLOGRAPHER steps up in trip for her handicap bow having placed in all three starts in maiden company. With improvement expected, David Lanigan’s filly gets the vote. Yasir has been in fine form over longer distances and an apprentice’s allowance negates a further 3lb rise for winning here last time but Choral Clan remains 7lb higher than his win at Lingfield in June. Thecornishbarron has also looked high enough in the weights of late though drops back down in class for this.
