Verdict

GABRIAL'S GIFT comfortably justified favouritism over 6f here at the start of the month when Emiratesdotcom and The Mongoose were behind. He's already won over a mile so the step up in distance won't be a problem and David Simcock's four-year-old can defy a penalty and top weight in this. Swendab is better over sprint distance while Basle is difficult to predict and Offbeat Safaris looks a shadow of his former self, but Sarangoo has place claims again after three solid efforts this year and Cheers Big Ears' course and distance third was his best run so far.
