In depth

Verdict

Despite being beaten a distance on heavy ground at Taunton in January, BOB KEOWN was heavily supported when wearing cheekpieces for the first time on quicker ground at Exeter last week and could hardly have been more impressive. A 7lb penalty doesn't look anywhere near enough to prevent a follow-up, especially as his rider claims it all back. Ray Diamond is 10lb higher than his last victory over timber and has been chasing while Midnight Request ran a shocker on soft going at Market Rasen after showing promise in very testing ground. Pilgreen looks a bigger threat as he was having only his second start in three years when narrowly beaten at Newbury and should be fighting fit for this.
