In depth

Verdict

Disappointingly just the six runners line up for this novices' chase but it is still not the easiest of races to solve and several have claims including Moulin de La Croix, who has been running consistently well in handicaps of late and won at Leicester last time, and Don McCain's It's A Discovery but it may be worth siding with ITEA DU FAU. Alan King's mare relished plenty of cut in the ground when trained in France and this is the first time that she has encountered suitable going since running in the UK so she may well improve on the form of her two previous starts since joining King. Mark Gillard's Orana Conti is capable of taking a hand in the finish in this company having struggled against the handicapper in recent starts and she makes more appeal than Ringsend Rose, who has a lot to find on official BHA ratings. Society Night is similarly easy to discount and of more interest is Don McCain's It's A Discovery, who handles plenty of cut in the ground and was going well before unseating last time. Itea Du Fau cannot be backed with great confidence but the more testing ground today should help Alan King's mare and she looks worth chancing.
