Verdict

Kalk Bay has been raised 6lb for winning a lady riders' race at Doncaster and this looks a bit tougher. Swift Approval has a penalty for winning at Musselburgh and has been done no favours by the draw. The returning Alejandro, Meshardal and Captain Revelation are also drawn out wide but Brighton scorer Fingal's Cave is interesting as he's been in good form this year and showed he handled the track back in 2014. THE HOODED CLAW won over 6f at this meeting last year and, though still 5lb higher, ran a nice race on his return to action at Pontefract. He's worth another try over this longer trip around here and can get the better of fellow course winners Navigate and Deauville Prince.
