Verdict

After a long barren spell, Hallstatt has found his form and is on a hat-trick. He's 1lb out of the handicap but that shouldn't be a problem and he should be thereabouts. Mysterious Man may have been a shade unfortunate when beaten a short-head at Salisbury and, as he hasn't had much racing and looks progressive, he looks certain to go well. HARVARD N YALE has tackled stiff Ascot handicaps over 1m4f on his two latest starts and has been staying on strongly in both. He appears nicely handicapped and looks the type to go on to better things so gets the verdict. Newbury winner Gabrial's King has a bit more to do with a 6lb rise to contend with in this better race.
