Verdict

Foildubh didn't look quite at his best behind Frisco Depot at Naas and may have been feeling the effects of a close third to Model County Lass on this track 10 days earlier. Dual winning bumper DARE TO DOUBT started a short-priced favourite in the latter event but could only finish fourth. He was returning from a break and making his hurdling debut and should have benefited enough from the experience to make the necessary improvement to take this. Stablemate Sir Vincent appeared to find this trip on the short side at Wexford last time after a much better effort over 2m4f at Gowran when just touched off by Cool Oscar. Silverlord, a debut winner on the Flat at Deauville in 2007, has never won in Ireland but looked as though he would be doing so in the near future when runner-up to Colleoni at Ludlow a month ago.
