Verdict

WAR COMMAND created a shock when storming to victory in the Coventry Stakes and looks one of the season's top juveniles so far, as entries in all the major juvenile events suggest. It will be an even bigger shock if he can't remain unbeaten as today's opposition looks a bit low on quality for a Group 1. Sudirman has made good progress and looks the obvious danger after his fine success in the Group 2 Railway Stakes here in June. He's likely to improve again and just holds Big Time on that latter run. Ambiance travels from the UK but doesn't look Group 1 class and the remaining pair will need to step up a gear to get competitive.
