Verdict

Dick Whittington easily beat Dandyleekie at Navan and didn't quite last out over an extra furlong in a Listed contest at Ascot when only third behind Richard Pankhurst and TOSCANINI. The latter had been narrowly beaten by Kool Kompany in a Listed event at Naas earlier and Michael Halford's colt, who is owned by Godolphin, looks the one to be on. Itorio looked very speedy when scoring over this trip at Naas and is another who found 7f just beyond him at Leopardstown though he was only caught close home. Rapid Applause made a winning start at Cork and was by no means disgraced behind Kool Kompany in the Group 2 Railway Stakes here though a line through the winner gives him something to find with the selection.
