In depth

Verdict

Kingdom of Fife, Knowsall and Grande Annee make the shortlist here and the vote is given to Knowsall. This is a race that looks like it could go to a newcomer and Jeremy Noseda's gelding makes plenty of appeal on breeding. The yard have got a good strike-rate with their 3-year-olds this season and he should go well. His stable-mate Grande Annee looks the best of those with experience and he wasn't beaten far on his racecourse debut. The form has been franked and if the market were to speak in his favour then it could pay to take the hint. Kingdom Of Fife showed promise on his debut at Newmarket over 7f last season, but he is bred to do better over middle-distances and that is where his future may lie. His stable-mate Muftarres is an interesting newcomer and again the market may provide the clues regarding his chance. Ed Dunlop's Paradise Island shaped with promise on her debut at Leicester last season and she will handle the cut in the ground, but we are prepared to take a chance on Knowsall who is put forward as the pick.
